Major Interest | My main scientific focus is inflammation and traumatology in large animals, in particular untoward responses to inflammation and trauma (e.g. joint destruction caused by intraarticular inflammation, hyperresponsiveness to inflammatory stimuli or excessive scarring during wound healing). My research is translational with much focus on understanding underlying pathophysiology in common diseases in the large animal clinic, combining clinical and laboratory disciplines. Lately, my group has explored assessment of equine proteins by qualitative and quantitative proteomics, resulting among other things in the equine PeptideAtlas, a publicly available repository containing 24,131 distinct peptides representing 2636 canonical proteins. |
